How the assessment works
No tryout pressure, no pass/fail. A coach spends the session understanding where your junior is today so we can recommend the right starting point.
Step 1
A relaxed welcome
The assessment is a coaching session, not a tryout. Your coach starts by getting to know your junior — age, experience so far, and what your family is hoping to get out of golf.
Step 2
A look at fundamentals
The coach watches your junior swing, chip, and putt at their own pace. There is no score and no pass/fail — the goal is simply to see where they are today.
Step 3
A placement recommendation
Based on what the coach sees, your family gets a clear recommendation: the class package, membership, or private lesson track that fits your junior's current level and goals.
Step 4
A clear next step
After the session, Teresa follows up to coordinate scheduling — day, time, coach, and location — so you know exactly what happens next.
What parents usually ask
Does my child need their own clubs?
If your junior already has clubs, bring them. If not, mention it when Teresa coordinates your session time and we'll sort out the details before you arrive.
What should my child wear?
Comfortable athletic clothes and closed-toe shoes are all that's needed. There is no dress code for the assessment.
Do parents stay for the session?
Yes — parents are welcome to watch. The recommendation conversation at the end is for you as much as for your junior.
Is the assessment required?
It's the required starting point for most private lesson students 13 and up, and it's the recommended first step for any new student, because it lets us place your junior in the right program instead of guessing.
Does buying the assessment schedule the session?
Not automatically. Your purchase reserves the assessment, then Teresa contacts you to coordinate the day, time, coach, and location that work for your family.
